# Local workspace access

`u:\mediaweb\` is a **Samba mount of the same tree** as on TiTaN (`~/work/mediaweb` over SSH). Edits here are live on the server.

## Prefer local

- **Read / edit / search** project files with workspace tools (`Read`, `Write`, `Grep`, `Glob`) — **do not SSH** just to inspect or change files under this repo.
- **PHP CLI** is available locally — run `php scan.php`, `php list.php`, one-liners against `config.php` / `media.db` from `u:\mediaweb`.
- **curl** is available locally — hit `http://titan.voltage.nz/mweb/...` or `http://10.0.0.1/mweb/...` without SSH.

## When SSH is still OK

Host: **TiTaN** — `ssh crush@10.0.0.1` (same box as `titan.voltage.nz`). Repo on the host: `~/work/mediaweb` (this Samba tree).

Use SSH only for things the mount / local tools cannot do well, e.g.:

- Paths **outside** the share (`/fstore2/torrents/...`, system ffmpeg/mediainfo probes on huge originals)
- Services / packages / Apache as another user
- Long server-side jobs you intentionally want on the host

Do not `scp` or `ssh cat` files that already exist under `u:\mediaweb\`. Do not guess other SSH users/hosts.
